(Mayne, 1857). ‖ osphyarˈthritis [arthritis], gout in the loins (Dunglison Med. Lex. 1853). ˈosphyocele [Gr. κήλη tumour], lumbar hernia. ‖ ˌosphyomyeˈlitis, inflammation of the spinal cord in the lumbar region (Mayne).
